    • Ito-san - Renesas will release new BSP with Cogent changes end of January with 4.14 kernel and YP 2.4. This will be back ported to Eel for a patch release in February.

  • RC2 released last week. RC3 Merge window closes Nov 24.
  • Integration of Window Manager and Home Screen
    • 11/21
      • Plan for EE is ivi-extension 1.11+, Weston 2.0, XDG may or may not work, but it is important for EE.
      • There is a piece missing to allow XDG apps to be independent of the window manager. Need to manage the surface IDs for XDG apps. From what we know Michael Teyfel is working on that
      • Mitsunari-san working on getting Window Manager to work with ivi-extension 2.0+ but it will probably take too long to complete for EE.
  • AAAA moving to platform/ Yocto build rather than SDK. See also SPEC-1004 through SPEC-1011
    • In order to migrate legacy apps to AAAA and the new API, Fulup agreed to have IoT.bzh make the code available in the Yocto/CI build rather than building the code via the SDK. The SDK version allowed IoT.bzh to progress the concept to this point, but we need to make the API available generally.
    • Once the code has been added to the build, Konsulko will look at what is required to port the legacy reference apps the new API before the CES Integration Session in mid-November.

  • RC1 released last week. RC2 Merge window closes today.
  • Updates to create device profiles and rearrange the layers (SPEC-145). Will have a preliminary plan to discuss at ALS. Finalize at July F2F meeting and get the separation done early in EE (opens 10-July). As part of this the App FW will be decoupled from the graphics.
    • Update 4/18: Stephane: flat structure for inheritance of images
      • Proposal is to discuss a proposal before the F2F meeting/ALS and setup a few calls for this.
    • Update 4/25 - To be continued….
    • Update 5/2 - Separate meeting planned for tomorrow.
    • Update 5/9 - Meetings in progress.

    • Update 9/12 - Since EE RC1 is coming up fast week are going to break SPEC-145 into some additional subtasks and incorporate the folder structure to support profiles which just involves moving recipes, include the backport changes in SPEC-802 and push out usage of the binary feeds and some other more complex issues to FF. This will let us experiment with the binary feeds without risking breaking everything.

      • Oiwa-san and Mitsunari-san showed part of their presentation from AMM so we could prioritize the features that need to be stabilized for EE. Team agreed focus on “Policy A - 1 app / 1 screen” for EE.
      • Witz will continue to work on “Policy B - 2 apps/ 1 screen” for a Toyota/Witz demo at CES or later.
      • IoT.bzh will publish a kick-start guide for migrating an app to the new Window Manager using the current HVAC app as an example. This kick-start guide will be ready prior to the Yokohama Workshop on Nov 14.

    • Plan for DD 4.0.2
      • Yocto project update (SPEC-869)
      • RC email sent out yesterday
      • CIAT testing on-going
  • SPEC-544 - dev-ttyS*.device race not starting.
    • Not a lot of progress. Scott will update issue with how to enable the full systemd logging.
    • Update 6/27 - Scott has a test set up where he can reproduce it fairly regularly, but has not figured out the root cause. Going to look at systemd reload after the apps have their first time install completed.
    • Since developers have a workaround (the second boot will be ok). We can release RC2 with what we have.
  • Raspberry Pi - Want to double check Raspberry Pi status with Leon before releasing RC2.
    • 6/27 - RPI looks good to go. CI not working because uboot was removed. SOTA not working either. Fixes will be looked into for RC3
    • 7/4 -Updates available in Jira.
    • 7/11 - Check with people at F2F if we have sent an email to the systemd mail list? Should check in bug tracking system as well.
    • 7/25 - Latest systemd (v232) fixes issue in Jan-Simon's test. Do not want to uprev at this time so will look for a patch or set of patches to resolve this issue.
    • 8/1 - Scott tried to back port v232 and still sees the problem. Difference is that Jan-Simon removed any patches on top of systemd.
    • 8/8 - Issue still visible also with v232 (Scott).
    • 8/22 - Scott can reproduce with agl minimal image with core-image-minimal on pyro on qemu.
    • 9/5 - No update
    • 9/12 - No update. Jan-Simon confirmed that the issue is seen on master with pyro.

  • Readout from Yokohama integration sessions last week.
    • Isogai pushed 8339 to gerrit to fix audio management problems. Will need to be ported to master as well.
    • Kurokawa pushed 8337 to gerrit to backport tuner driver to Porter board. Should make tuner app stable for porter
    • Network management still being worked on by Nakamura-san. Blocks POI application.
    • Tanikawa and Nakamura made fixes to map viewer on IC. 7899 in gerrit.
    • Need to rename the map viewer demo to cluster mode since AGL does not explicitly support IC yet.
    • There may be another session next week for the “True Final Integration” prior to AMM
  • Review open gerrit issue for inclusion in CC 3.0.1
    • 7899 will be cherry picked to CC branch after Jenkins verifies
    • Discussed Ronan's proposed changes to the package groups/image dependencies (8323 and 8317). Agreed to revert to package groups approach that AGL has been using. We can discuss refactoring image and package group design taking into account the requirements we have discovered over the past 18 months.

  • Panasonic weston plug-in from CES needs refactoring before releasing to AGL. Some protocol extensions may be needed. Will set aside a couple hours on Feb 10 at the AMM to discuss the future of the compositor and weston with the UI and Graphics EG.

    • Update 1/10 - no longer seen after RC3

Short Meeting due to New Year and CES travel

Jan-Simon will set up a FOSDEM planning meeting for next week.

Chinook RC3 tomorrow. Should be final RC.

Jan-Simon noted that navi app has to be opened before POI app is started. Once POI is selected in POI app you need to switch over to the navi app manually, it does not switch over automatically.

Review gerrit issues open to see what should be merged into chinook.
