Meeting notes for Nov 14, 2024

Quillback - Quillback 17.1.5 scheduled for December 20 based on YP 4.0.23
- 10/24
  - YP 4.0.22 should be released this week.
  - Scott will work on the bump next week so Alex can test in two weeks.
- 11/7
  - YP 4.0.22 submitted and merged by Jan-Simon
  - Build and tag of 17.1.4 will finish by tomorrow and Alex can do the test run next week.
  - Joel submitted back ports to kirkstone that were not merged yet. Will need to check those to see if app updates are necessary so we will hold off until next release.

  - Alex's test report for 17.1.4
    - Alex noted that all boards are exhibiting the low FPS in the camera app (SPEC-5240) and not just the M3. George is looking at the ticket. There was a fix in master that may need to be backported.
    - Alex's M3ULCB board is fried. That board was removed from CI some time ago. We discussed and decided to remove the M3 from the testing rather than replace it since it is not in wide use anyway.
  - We will go ahead with the 17.1.4 release and note SPEC-5240 as a known issue.
  - 17.1.5 depends on YP4.0.23 which is planned for Nov 29. Will try to get that merged first week in December before Scott's vacation.
  - Reaffirmed the decision that Quillback will stick with the version of meta-flutter in 17.1.x and not pull in the uprevs that Joel adds to the layer as we move forward. Will inform the community and SC of this decision and see what the reaction is.

Ricefish - Royal Ricefish 18.0.3 is planned for January 24
- 10/24
  - YP 5.0.4 pushed to master and merged to Ricefish
  - Scott cherry picked a number of fixes back to Ricefish. Needs to update the SRC_REVs
  - Jan-Simon will do the pre-release work for 18.0.2 so Alex can test next week during ALS.
  - KVM demo not working on Ricefish. Scott will create a Jira to fix for 18.0.3

  - Alex's test report for 18.0.2
  - 18.0.2 was released this week.
  - YP 5.0.5 is Nov 22 - merge but not do a release
  - YP 5.0.6 is Dec 27 - merge for 18.0.3
- 11/14
  - Staying with current plan to not release after YP 5.0.5. Will revisit in two weeks after we the release in hand.
  - No other patches for Ricefish now. Looked at latest added to master and there is nothing to backport.

Master - Super Salmon. M1 scheduled for November 29

11/7
- M1 is planned for Nov 27. Will stick with YP 5.0.4 for M1
- Jan-Simon will get the Qt 6 patch set from Indivara (Qt Company) merged for M1. Plan is deprecate Qt 5 for Salmon. IC and demo control panel are ready for Qt 6. Finishing up IVI with Indivara's patches plus some patches/ suggestions from Scott.
- Marius asked about working on gRPC interface for compositor use cases for the Unified HMI - will go ahead and start looking at that in conjunction with the SDV EG.
- SPEC-5235 - gStreamer remoting plug in - Marius will start looking at that.
- Yamaguchi-san updating Rockchip BSP for M1

- M1 is planned for Nov 27. Will stick with YP 5.0.4 for M1
- Qt 6 patch set still has some build issues that are being worked out. Lisandro offered to help look at this as well.
- Marius working on a “pile” of fixes that should be ready soon.
- Debated removing the remoting plug-in in M1 while the Pipewire/gstreamer version is developed. We agreed that removing the existing remoting plug-in is ok since it will not break any of current demos.
- Scott will work on the update to VSS 5.0 in the next week to get it into M1
- Marius submitted an update to fix the flutter auto key crash (gerrit 30509). Need to chat with Joel in the IVI call tonight about his concerns.
- George cannot reproduce the issue with the audio and the camera connected, but believes there is a race condition based on the dumps that were provided.

- Vinod asked about adding open source licensing policy to the documentation. Moving the discussion to JIRA. Vinod to create a ticket.

- Jan-Simon pointed at this patch that was rejected some time ago.

  - Narrowed down audio issues from SPEC-5244 to the USB Camera, when a USB camera with a microphone is connected, no audio can be played (on all platforms except h3ulcb-refhw).
  - The Voice Assistant toggle doesn't work. “Voice Assistant failed to start” in logs. This is a bug. The toggle should not appear on the home screen when the Voice Assistant is not present. Alex to file a Jira ticket.
- YP 5.0.4 almost ready for merge to master. See Ricefish status.
- Timos has a bunch of changes. All are ready to merge except 2.
- Two more unified HMI changes are nearly ready (six already merged)
- Yamaguchi-san asked about audio issue. George cannot reproduce, but will now try with USB camera attached. Asked people to include pw-dump in the Jira ticket (SPEC-5244 and SPEC-5245)

  - Alex writing a Jira ticket for the audio problems he saw (heard). Will reference the ticket as a known issue in the release since the problem seems to be sporadic for certain users. Would like to get more information and give the logs to George.

  - Will go ahead and make the release with these known issues documented.
