Notes

• Morning discussion was in Japanese about obstacles and hurdles to overcome in using AGL in their products
• VirtIO loopback
  • Rutabaga versus VirGL for GPU support in VirtIO
    • Michele to do some analysis on app dependencies of Rutabaga or whether the app does not know or care about Rutabaga or VirGL being the VirtIO backend.
    • Estimated 6-8 weeks for Rutabaga work which is considered easier than getting VirGL working.
    • Group is concerned that VOS will spend a lot time on work that is not of interest to the community since Unified HMI and others are already using VirGL or DRM Lease
    • Will wait for Marius to join the call later to see if Collabora has any work in progress in this area.
  • VOS has only tested code on Reference Hardware for audio use cases
  • QEMU up rev to version 8 is not possible until we switch to Scarthgap. Backport to kirkland is not possible.
