A Face to Face workshop will be held the September 27-29, 2022 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm JST (Japan Standard Time (UTC+9) at the Panasonic Center in Tokyo.

The primary focus of this face to face meeting of the System Architecture Team and Expert Groups is Flutter integration and App Framework architecture. Other topics are listed below. The final agenda will be posted one week prior to the meeting.

On Thursday we would like to take this opportunity to re-engage our Japanese members (and anyone else) by providing a day of training on AGL. The training classes will require a separate registration for virtual attendees (Link to be provided). The course agenda and descriptions can be found here

Location:

Panasonic Center in Tokyo 3 Chome-5-1 Ariake, Koto City, Tokyo 135-0063,

Visa Requirements - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

At this time a Visa is required to enter Japan due to Covid protocols. The first step in obtaining a visa is to be entered into the ERFS system by the Linux Foundation. Depending on the RED/YELLOW/GREEN status of your location you may need to quarantine upon arrival in Japan. These rules get updated very often so the final entry requirements may be different when the event is planned to run than they are today.

Once you receive the ERFS approval from the Linux Foundation you will be able to apply for a visa at your local consulate. Please consult the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs website for details on visa and entry requirements for your country.

If you need ERFS approval from the Linux Foundation, please send the following information to wminer@linux foundation.org by August 1 at the VERY latest.

  1. Name as it appears on your passport
  2. Gender
  3. Nationality as shown on your passport
  4. Date of Birth
  5. Passport number
  6. Name of the hotel you are planning to stay at
  7. Date of entry to Japan

Hotels:

We do not have a room block set aside for this event. Some of us are staying at the Hilton Odaiba which is conveniently located close to Gonpachi and a short train ride from the Panasonic Center, but there are plenty of other choices in the area.
